The Ardens Waiting Lists Template allows you to add patients to a waiting list for any purpose you may have. The associated Waiting List search and report enables you to identify patients who are on a waiting list and which list that is.

 

The Waiting List Template is located in the Ardens > Reception Admin templates folder.

 

Access the template from the patient record in one of the following ways:

 

Click on the Run Template option within the consultation.

Click on the Add > Data using Template option outside of a consultation.

 

Clicking on either of the options above will display the Template Picker screen.

Search for the Waiting List (Reception Admin) template using the search box provided or via the folder navigation pane. Select the template and click on OK.

 

Adding a patient to a waiting list

Navigate to the Waiting List page and use the first section to add the patient to a waiting list, adding the name of the waiting list using the free text field, as well as any other comments that may be needed. Additional comments will display in the consultation once saved.

The example below shows the patient is being added to a Mental Health Worker waiting list due to a recent bereavement.

Save the template, using the Save option on the ribbon.

 

If using the template via the Run Template option within an open consultation, you will also need to click Save to save the consultation.

 

Viewing the Waiting List Report

To extract a list of patients on a waiting list, navigate to Population Reporting module > Ardens Searches > 1.30 Administration - Misc > Tracking - Waiting List folder.


 

Select the Report List of patients on waiting list and then select Run on the ribbon. The search associated with the report will also run.

Then select Yes to the following screen:

The search and report will run and return the results.

 

To view the report, highlight the ‘List of patients on waiting list’ report, and select View Results on the ribbon.

 

 

The report will show the patients EMIS Number, Patient name, name of the waiting list and date added to the record.

Removing a patient from a waiting list

Open the Waiting List Template in the patient record and navigate to the Waiting List page. Use the second section of the page to tick Removed from waiting list, adding the name of the waiting list as free text, as well as any other additional comments that may be needed.

There is the option to add removal comments or further notes on the template. These will display in the consultation notes of the patient record.

 

Save the template, using the Save option on the ribbon.

 

If using the template via the Run Template option within an open consultation, you will also need to click Save to save the consultation.

 

Re-running the ‘Patients on waiting list’ search and report will now exclude this patient from the list.

 

The Care History screen of the patient record will display the following:
