Ardens has provided a suite of searches to support practices with monitoring the requirements of local enhanced services for minor surgery, joint injections, over 75s Health Check, warfarin monitoring and womens health.

Before using the following searches, we advise practices to check that there is no other local searches that has been created in their area for these services. For those practices that are Ardens Plus or Pro customers, searches may be available as part of your localised commissioned services resources, further information on this can be found in the following support article.

To locate the searches navigate to the Population Reporting module > Ardens Searches > 5.50 Contracts – Local (generic) folder.

Each sub folder contains activity searches and reports which identify patients with various procedures carried out in a relevant timeframe (this can be specified at the point of running the search).

Right click on the required sub folder and select Run. To view the results of the search, with the search highlight, click on the Population Included tab.

To view the results of a report, select the View Results option on the EMIS ribbon. The reports will display details of the patients and procedures carried out.

The Minor surgery + joint injections folder will report on other minor surgery codes (potentially outside of payment), which practices may wish to manually sort, it also includes data quality searches to identify patients with a procedure code but no minor surgery code . Details on the use of the Ardens "Minor Surgery + Joint Injections" template to aid data recording can be accessed in the following support article.

The Over 75s Health Check folder provides a register of patients aged over 75yrs, with searches identifying where specific components of the health check have been completed.

The Warfarin Monitoring (National ES) folder provides a register of all patients currently issued Warfarin, a report providing patient details, indication duration and target INR and further searches identifying which patients have reason, target, duration and end date recorded. Details on the use of the Ardens "Anticoagulation" template to aid data recording can be accessed in the following support article.

The Womens Health folder contains 5 sub folders.

The Coil - insertion > 10y ago (no removal) folder contains searches identifying women with coils fitted > 10yr ago with no record of removal (or hysterectomy).

The Data quality folder identifies women who have been coded with a coil insertion code however they have been coded previously with a hysterectomy code.  You may wish to review these patients records to check the coding is accurate.

The Coils: Activity reports folder contains register reports searching for patients with a coil in situ, removed, replaced and reviews done, based on the timeframe specified at the point of running the searches.  Each folder distinguishes between patients requiring the coil for contraception and those who do not.  In each of these folders are additional data quality searches to identify potential coding errors.

The Implants - insertions >3y ago (no removal) folder identifies women with a contraceptive implant fitted more than 3yr ago with no record of removal.

The Implants: Activity reports folder identifies patients coded with implants inserted or replaced, inserted only, removal procedures, replacements and those who underwent a review (timeframe to be specified at the time of running the searches). Additional data quality searches within the DQ folder identify patients coded with more that one insertion recorded on the same day, or in the timeframe specified at the time of running the searches. You may wish to review these patients records to check the coding is accurate.

The Ring pessary folder offers a pessary register reporting on patients currently with a pessary in place and additional searches identifying dates of insertion, removal or renewal (timeframe to be specified at the time of running the searches).
