The Ardens condition searches have been designed to support GP practices with the management of specific diseases, including identifying certain trends and highlighting clinical areas that may need attending. This particular folder focuses on respiratory conditions such as Asthma and COPD.

To view respiratory activity, navigate to the Population Reporting module > Ardens Searches > 4.13 Conditions - Respiratory search folder.

The Action folder identifies existing asthma patients where the practice needs to consider switching them to AIR or MART therapy, in accordance with NICE, BTS and SIGN asthma guidance. It also includes reports highlighting patients clinicians may wish to review based on specific activity in their records.

To view the results of a report, once run, select View Results from the ribbon. To view the search the report is based on, select Full Hierachy on the ribbon.

The Case Finders folder now directs you to our 5.00 Case Finders searches. Further information on these searches can be found here.

The More detail folder is broken down into 4 sub-folders:

The Activity last month folder provides data on diagnosis, reviews, and hospital admissions for Asthma and COPD patients last month.

The Exacerbations folder identifies COPD and Asthma patients with a recording of an exacerbation in the last year.

The FeNO folder reports on patients with a recorded FeNO test in the last year. The report includes information on additional types of assessments and other relevant activity recorded.

The OPTIMISE COPD reports folder identifies COPD patients who were prescribed antibiotics and prednisolone on the same day in the last year.

The Performance Indicators folder tracks specific aspects of care which have or have not been completed in the last 15 months.

The Register folder identifies patients included on the Asthma, Bronchiectasis and COPD registers. The More detail folder provides a deeper breakdown of these patients extending beyond the standard QOF registers.

Please note - We advise practices not to use the zSubreports search folder, these are searches which the searches in the main folders are built upon.
