The Ardens Appointment searches will support practices in identifying information regarding frequent attenders, signposting, unplanned contact, along with an understanding of appointment cancellation and DNAs over a preferred time frame. 


To navigate to the searches, access the Population Reporting module > Ardens Searches > 1.32 Administration - Appointments searches folder. 



Info - Appointment signposting

This folder contains a search identifying patients coded with 'General practitioner appointment not available' in the timeframe you set on running the search. The subsequent search displays patients who have signposting recorded using the Appointment Signposting protocol. The associated aggregate report provides a breakdown of where the signposting has been directed.



Info - Frequent Attenders

This folder contains searches and reports to gather information of patients who have had more than 10 appointments The first two reports run on parameters and will need a date range added when the report is run. 


The first report will show those patient who have had 10 appointments in the time frame but have not been referred to a social prescriber. The other two reports show patients with 10 appointments and details of any QOF registers (Long term conditions) the patient is on. 


The "More detail" folder shows the searches that the reports are built on if more detail is needed or if the practice want to see how many social prescriber referrals have been made - 



Info - Patients > 65 years old not seen in past 5 years

This folder contains a search identifying patients over the age of 65 who have not been seen in the last 5 years.  The associated report will display patient details a the date of the last consultation.


 

Info - patients with no consultations in timeframe

This folder contains a search identifying patients who have had no contact within a timeframe specified at the point of running the search.  The associated report will display patient details information and the date of last consultation, appointment, medication issue, referral and result recorded.



Info - Unplanned patient contact

This folder contains a search and reports to identify unplanned clinical contact with patients.

Review - Appointments cancelled and DNAs

This folder contains three searches with supporting reports. These will help the practice to manage DNA and cancelled appointments.



The first search will report on all patient appointments in the required time period. When running the search, set the date range using the Run Parameters box (more information on setting parameters can be found here). The associated report will show the appointment status and will help to manage any unfinished (not left) slots.


The second search will report on appointments that have been cancelled in the set time period. Set the required date using the Run Parameters box. The associated 'Appointment Cancelled with details of future appointments' report will show the cancelled appointment details and if the patient has made an appointment in the future (including the slot type and appointment reason). The report below this 'Count of appointments cancelled' displays the number of appointments cancelled in the time period.


The third search will report on appointments that patients are marked as “Did not Attend” in the time period. The associated reports will display the DNA appointment details, if a patient has booked another appointment and count of appointments marked as a DNA.
