The 'Check Patient' feature is a very useful tool to identify why a patient is appearing or is not appearing in a particular search result.

There are two ways to access the Check Patient feature:

If the patient is appearing under the Population Included tab of a search, right click on the patient and select Check Patient.

This will display the Check Patient screen and will show details of the included or excluded information. For the below example the patient has been coded with 'Fatty change of liver' on the 11th March 2020 and this is why they are included on this particular search.

Alternatively. with the relevant search highlighted click on the Check Patient option on the EMIS ribbon. Search and select the required patient on the Patient Find screen to access the Check Patient screen.

The above option is useful if you have a specific patient who you want to identify if they are included on excluded in the selected search.

Please note - quite often the Ardens searches include rules based on other searches and when using the Check Patient feature it may not drill down to the specific information needed. This is where the use of the 'Denominator Searches' folders may help.

Please see the following video which explains how to use Check Patient feature based on the Ardens COVID Vaccination Searches.
