Ardens has designed a Clinical Diagram Template to allow you to document and annotate body maps as part of your patient's care. It is sometimes very useful to store an annotated diagram in a patient record to either do a comparison or to be included in a referral letter.
Please see this short training video on how to locate and use:
Clinical Diagram Template
To locate the Ardens Clinical Diagram Template, access the relevant patient record. Open a new consultation and select the Run Template option (if not in consultations, click on the Add button on the EMIS ribbon, followed by Data Using Template option).
This will open the Template Picker screen. If you have accessed any templates before, these will display to the left of the screen. Search for the template by typing “Clinical Diagram” in the search box (alternatively navigate to the Ardens > Consultation Templates > Administrative folder using the folder navigation pane to the right of the screen).
Double click on the template to launch.
This will display the following screen and by default will show you a diagram of the patients head and face.
Selecting the Configure button will allow you to select the part of the body you require.
Once you have select the image, click OK.
Using the Toolbar icons you can select an annotation to add to the diagram. In the example below, we are going to select the shaded circle icon (Ellipse filled).
Now navigate to the area of the diagram you want to mark with the shaded circle. Keep your left mouse button pressed down and drag the shaded circle to highlight the area required. You can add multiple areas by continuing to use your left mouse button as previously described. Any free text can also be added using the icon (A) provided.
Click on Save Template option to save the annotation to the patient record.
Viewing the Clinical Diagram in the Patient Record
To identify an annotation has been included in a consultation, a pencil icon will display. Double click on the pencil icon to view the image or print if required.
Please note - the images can be included in document templates. For further information on the pre-populated Ardens referral letters, please click here. For further information on the Ardens National Document templates, please click here.
