Ardens has created a template to capture information for patients who have been, or are due to be screened for breast, bowel, or cervical cancer.
Access the template in one of the following ways:
- Click on the Run Template option within the consultation.
- Click on the Add > Data using Template option outside of a consultation.
Clicking on either of the options above will display the Template Picker screen.
Search for the 'Cancer Screening Follow-up’ template using the search box provided or via the navigation pane. Select the template and click on OK.
The template has a page for breast, bowel and cervical cancer screening follow up.
The Breast screening page provides a link to NICE for information about the screening programme and allows the coding of the last mammogram result. An offer of screening code can be added to the patient record, and coding for either screening declined or not attended is also available. The user may also code a DNA follow up and that advice about the programme has been given. Finally, there is the option to add a diary entry for an earlier recall if necessary, but please note that this will not link to the national screening programme.
The Bowel screening page has a similar layout, firstly giving details of the screening programme. The page displays the latest entry of bowel screening findings, the ability to record invitations, declined and DNA codes, and follow up post DNA or non-submission.
The Cervical screening page again is very similar in layout, and shows the latest cervical smear result from the patient record. An invitation code may be added, as well as the results of cervical screening.
Please note that the Record Results section of this page is also available on the Ardens Cervical screening template.
The user may also code a decline or DNA, as well as a DNA follow up and that advice about the programme has been given. Finally, there is the option to add a diary entry for an earlier recall, if necessary, but once again, please note that this will not link to the national screening programme.
Complete the template using the required fields and ensure you save the information, using the Save option.
If using the template via the Run Template option within an open consultation, you will also need to click Save to save the consultation.
