Reception flu alert protocol
This protocol is designed to alert a receptionist / admin staff that a patient is due a flu or pneumo vaccination at the point of booking an appointment or loading the patient record. This protocol is deployed (or published) inactive and will need to be 'activated' before it will run.
To activate this protocol, please navigate to Template Manager or Resource Publisher then inside the Ardens folder, choose the Seasonal Immunisations folder and choose the Reception flu+pneumo pop-up alert 2020_21 as shown below. Please note if you are a Resource Publisher site then the Ardens folder is in 'Shared folders' on the bottom left of the screen.
Right click the protocol and choose 'Status' then 'Activate'.

Please note in order to run the F12 protocol, you must ensure the Seasonal Flu 2020 protocol is added to your F12 launcher.
To use the Seasonal Immunisations tools, whilst in a consultation, press the F12 key to bring up the protocol launcher.
Then simply double-click on the ‘Seasonal Flu 2020’ protocol.
The protocol should run – it will check for eligibility for NHS flu vaccine and, if not eligible, will display as below, giving you the option to add the code ''Needs influenza vaccination' (9OX4):
If they are eligible, or if you have already added 9OX4 as above, then simply use the picking lists to record the administration of the relevant vaccine(s).
Once the flu protocol has run, the pneumovax protocol will run automatically afterwards.
Please remember to ensure you have double-checked for allergies and contraindications and that you are giving the appropriate vaccine for the patient in front of you.
